Sexual Harassment Case Filed Against Air India Commander, By Woman Pilot

Mumbai: Sexual Harassment case filed against Air India Commander by a woman pilot. Soon after an inquiry has been set up. More details are awaited.

The action came after the victim wrote to Minister of Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu, Chairman and Managing Director of Air India and Minister for Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi, seeking justice.

“I was subject to sexual harassment by Captain…. who was my instructor for CRM loft,” the complainant has said in the letter.

Pilot further alleged that he never encouraged the commander and his behavior surprised, humiliated and scared him.

She says that the order for the commander had not ended when he kept calling her in his room and when she did not answer, he threatened her with the message that he would be in her room.

At this point, the pilot told that she was very upset with his behavior. The commander allegedly said that he was providing ‘alternatives’ to her.

According to Air India spokesperson, the investigation is under process and high inquiry committee meeting has been set to look into matter.
