Shah Rukh Khan’s Son Aryan Khan Denied Bail In Mumbai Cruise Drugs Case

Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan was on Wednesday denied bail in the Mumbai cruise drugs case. Aryan had moved Special NDPS court for bail in the case. His co-accused Arbaaz Merchantt and Munmun Dhamecha’s bail applications were also rejected.

Special Judge VV Patil had scheduled the hearing for today and rejected his bail. His friend Arbaaz Merchant was also arrested along with Aryan in the alleged drug case.

Aryan’s bail plea was heard in a Mumbai court today. Earlier, senior advocate Amit Desai and advocate Satish Manshinde had filed bail pleas seeking his release after Aryan was transferred from NCB custody to judicial custody.

The bail applications of Arbaaz Merchant and Aryan’s co-accused Munmun Dhamecha were also rejected. Star Kid’s legal team has said that Aryan will apparently approach the Mumbai High Court. After the verdict was pronounced, NCB official Sameer Wankhede said, “Satyamev Jayate”.

On 2 October, NCB conducted an operation on Cordelia cruise which was off the coast of Mumbai. According to Aryan’s lawyers, the 23-year-old star kid, who was detained along with 8 others, did not possess any drugs or narcotics.

At present, about 20 people including Aryan and his friend Arbaaz have been arrested in this case. However, the claims made for bail reveal that except Arbaaz, Aryan did not know anyone else on the cruise as he was an invitee. Earlier, the Metropolitan Magistrate had denied Aryan’s NCB custody and sent him to jail.

Aryan has been charged under Section 8(c), Section 20 (b) which relates to using cannabis, Section 27 which relates to the consumption of any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance and Section 35 which is a presumption of the culpable mental state of the NDPS Act.
