Shehla Rashid Must Be Given A Chance to Prove Her Claims: Touseef Ahmed, Political Analyst

Mumbai: A political analyst Touseef Ahmed claimed that the tweets by Shehla must be backed by evidence. While talking in a chat show he said, “I agree that the claim she made on twitter must be backed by evidence but then she should be given an opportunity to present those evidence.”

On Monday an activist from Tukde Gang Shehla Rashid twitted that the Indian army was using force against the Kashmiri locals and many have even died due to the Army’s action. According to her, the Armed forced are entering the houses at midnight, picking up boys, and leaving the house in turmoil in the name if inspection.

She went on to a tweet the alleged cruelty done by the Armed forced. “In Shopian 4 men were called into the Army camp and interrogated (tortured). A mic was kept closed to them so that the entire area could hear them scream and get terrorised. This created an environment of fear in the entire area.”

After her tweets, the entire twitter erupted with a trend of #arrestShehlaRashid for her claims made on twitter. Many even went on to file cases against her as she had allegedly spread fake news throughout the Internet. Many government supporters believe that she should be booked for her claims which according to people are utterly baseless and misleading.

People like Touseef Ahmed are demanding Rashid for evidence to prove her claims, which she has failed to present but she gave a vague idea of the atrocities done on the Kashmiris through her tweets, “My reaction to the controversy: All of my tweets are based on conversations with people. My thread highlights the positive work of the administration too. Let the Army conduct a fair and impartial probe and I’m willing to share the details of the incidents mentioned with them”

“I am an ordinary Kashmiri. In these times, getting merely arrested is a privilege. A 65-year-old man in Srinagar died because he choked on pepper gas being used by the police. A 17 yr old boy was the first documented victim of the current crisis. What is an arrest compared to it?”
