Shiv Sena Leader Calls For Special Parliament Session On COVID19

Mumbai: Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Monday demanded a special session of Parliament. In order to discuss the grim COVID-19 situation of all states in the country.

While addressing the Media, Sanjay Raut confirmed, “I have demanded a special session of Parliament because I have been speaking to political leaders of the country. They say the situation is grim in their states too.”

“So, if the Central government calls a special session, there will be an open discussion on the situation of all states,” he further added.

However, Maharashtra is the worst-hit state in terms of the number of cases and deaths, on Sunday state has reported the highest number of 68,631 fresh infections while 503 patients died, as per the state health department.

With this, the cumulative caseload in Maharashtra mounted to 38,39,338 while the death toll reached 60,473.

Meanwhile, India has recorded 2.73 lakh fresh COVID-19 cases on Monday, the highest single-day spike since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic

The death toll rose to 1.79 lakh with 1,619 people died in the last 24 hours in the highest ever single-day surge.
