Mumbai: Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram took a dig at the Center and said that four days after the Prime Minister’s announcement, the COVID-19 Economic Response Task Force has not been set up under Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

On 19 March, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the formation of a COVID-19 Economic Response Task Force to deal with the situation in the wake of the coronavirus epidemic.
He had said that the task force would be in regular contact with all stakeholders, take their feedback and make a decision accordingly.
Chidambaram urged the government to learn a lesson from Italy and suggested that slicing measures be left behind by the spread of the disease.
Requesting to “act boldly, act now”, he said: “There will be massive economic suffering. But it is possible to handle the economic consequences compared to the loss of many.”
The total number of coronavirus positive cases have risen to 471 in India including nine deaths, the ICMR sai
