Singapore Is The Most Important Partner Of India In Growth And Development: EAM S Jaishankar

Mumbai: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in his speech on Monday said Singapore has been a base for India’s economic and commercial policies.

Jaishankar, while addressing the inaugural session of ‘Start-up and Innovation Exhibition here, said, “In the political, strategic as well as economic and commercial sectors, Singapore has become a full-fledged center for India’s policies. During the plenary session, the minister recalled that India and Singapore came together at a very contemporary stage, at a time when the world, including India, was changing. “The two changes (India and Singapore) had something to do with each other,” he said.

Jaishankar said, “We have a very strong defense relationship. We have completed 25 years of uninterrupted naval exercises, which I think India is the longest with any country in the world.”

During an interactive session after his address, Jaishankar also stated that “India’s major concerns include its relationship with China as we run a huge trade deficit with China, which it believes is wrong.” Manner restricted market access results.”
