Singer KK Passes Away Aged 53 After His Live Performances In Kolkata
Mumbai: Singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK, who was in Kolkata for a concert, passed away on Tuesday evening at the age of 53.
The playback singer reportedly collapsed after the concert and was rushed to a private hospital in the city, where he was pronounced dead.
It has been reported that KK was feeling unwell after his live concert at Kolkata where he sang for almost an hour.
“It’s unfortunate that we could not treat him,” a senior official of the hospital told news agency PTI.
West Bengal Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Arup Biswas told mediapersons that the body has been sent for post-mortem.
“His family members have been informed. They are likely to reach Kolkata on Wednesday morning,” Biswas said. Biswas was quoted by news agency IANS.
The versatile singer has recorded songs in several languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi and Bengali.
The singer had earlier today posted pictures from his concert at Nazrul Manch in Kolkata.
