Some Of The Key Highlights For Due Lok Sabha Elections

Mumbai: The Election Commission of India announced dates of Lok Sabha Elections which is to be due for a month.
Elections will be conducted as per 7 phases, Voting will be started by 11th April and will continue till 19th May.

Calculation and counting of votes will be held on 23rd May.

The debate of Lok Sabha has already begun after the Pulwama attack and IAF Airstrike in Balakot. There are been controversies and debate between centre and opponents on the point of stolen documents of Rafale fighter aircraft deal which comes in worth billions.

On the one side where present BJP government is standing to win for one more time after getting into power in 2014, questions are been raised by opponents about their work and contributions of the last five years.

Around 90 crores voters will be able to vote for upcoming elections.

  • The Chief Election Commissioner said that The commission had deliberations with various departments that include Railways so that it can secure smooth movement and provision on the time of Elections.
  • CEC Anil Arora while speaking about the calculation of voters, he said that there will be a body of 900 million people (90 crores). These numbers contain 1.5 crore population who are in the age group 18-19 years.
  • In the vicinity of there will be 10 lakh voting centres in 2019 whereas there were 9lakh in 2014.
  • Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPATs) will be in the number of 17.4 with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) at all centres.
  • Loudspeakers will be restricted from 10 am to 6 pm as leading to Noise pollution.
  • EVMs will carry a photo of candidates so that to avoid confusion on the name which is similar.
  • The EC said that The photo will be printed on EVM ballot also on Postal Ballot papers. The candidates entail submitting the photographs to the returning officer. Their recent pic is required as a stamp size, as per the specifications laid down by the Commission.
