Sourav Ganguly Donates Rice Worth Rs 50 Lakhs Amid 21-Day COVID-19 Lockdown

Mumbai: As India continued its fight against coronavirus, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly pledged to donate rice worth Rs 50 lakh to the needy.

Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) said in its statement, Ganguly Lal Baba will provide rice to those who have been kept in government schools for safety and security.

“Sourav to provide free rice to the needy. Significantly, Sourav Ganguly along with Lal Baba Rice have come forward to provide free rice of up to Rs 50 lakh to the needy, who are kept in government schools for safety and security. This initiative of Ganguly will encourage other citizens of the state to take a similar initiative to serve the people of our state,” CAB said in a statement.

CAB chairman Avishek Dalmia has also supported the needy as he has donated Rs 5 lakh to the government’s emergency relief fund.

“The President of the CAB donated 5 lakhs to the Government’s Emergency Relief Fund. To fight against #Coronovirus / #Kovid19,” the CAB said in a statement.
