Spike In West Bengal Due To Poor Facilities at Quarantine Centres, Claims Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury

Mumbai: Senior Congress leader, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury alleged that the Spike in the number of Covid-19 cases in West Bengal is due to the poor facilities provided in the quarantine centres.

He describes the situation as ‘unhealthy  and inhuman’ and as bad as if a normal person is quarantined, he or she is bound to get infected.

“In the last few days, there have been reports of people running away from quarantine centres, complaining about unhealthy and inhuman living conditions. The situation is so bad that if a normal person is quarantined at a centre, he or she is bound to get infected”, said Chowdhury.

He further alleged the state of not upgrading quarantine centres in the last two months. He said that the government was busy doing politics over the migrant laborers issue.

The statements came after the state witnessed a steep increase of Covid-19 cases and complaints of patients evading the quarantine centres.

The state stands at 6,876 Covid-19 cases including 2,786 recoveries and 355 deaths.
