Sports Has Power To Change The World: Sachin Tendulkar Stand Against Racism

Mumbai: Master blaster and former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar on Saturday shared former South African President Nelson Mandela’s quote on how sports have the power to change the world.

Sachin on Friday also shared a video posted by the International Cricket Council with this quote. The short video is from the 2019 men’s ODI World Cup final, which was won by England.

The ICC used some excerpts from the World Cup 2019 final, which was decided on the final ball after 50 overs and in the Super-Over at Lord’s between England and New Zealand.

“Nelson Mandela once said, “Sport has the power to change the world. It has the power to unite the world in a way that little else does.” Wise words,” Sachin tweeted.

In the video, Jofra Archer can be seen giving the last ball of the tournament that gave England the first title.

Archer is a Barbadian who made his debut in May 2019 and was selected for England’s World Cup squad. He impressed the world with his fury pace in quadrangular tournaments and domestic ashes.

The right-handed batsman’s post came after protests from ‘Black Lives Matter’, which is taking place across America after a police officer, identified as Derek Chauvin, amputated his knee into George Floyd’s neck, Which later led to death.
