SRH Donate Rs 30 Crore In India’s Fight Against COVID19

Mumbai: The Indian Premier League (IPL) team Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has come forward in these testing times to make a generous donation and help in India’s fight against the second wave of COVID-19. Sunrisers Hyderabad has donated Rs 30 crore to provide relief work to the people affected by the second wave of the pandemic.

This amount will be used as a donation in various programs launched by the Government of India and state governments across the country. Sun TV Network, which owns the IPL franchise, has partnered with non-governmental organizations that provide oxygen cylinders and medicines, among other things, to the needy.

“Sun TV (SunRisers Hyderabad) is donating Rs.30 crores to provide relief to those affected by the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic,” SRH said on Twitter.

Sunrisers Hyderabad also came forward to donate last year when the first wave of pandemics across the country wreaked havoc. SRH donated Rs 10 crore for COVID-19 relief work last year.

The one-time IPL champion did not perform brilliantly in the first half of the tournament this year. SRH managed to win only one of their first seven matches, before postponing the tournament last week. The franchise also removed David Warner from the captaincy and replaced Kane Williamson in the squad.

Sunrisers Hyderabad will be hopeful of sparking a turnaround in the second phase of the tournament when IPL 2021 resumes later this year. BCCI is working on a window and a venue to complete the remainder of the season.
