SSR Death Case: Bombay High Court Grants Bail To Rhea Chakraborty, Her Brother Showik’s Bail Plea Rejected

Mumbai: Rhea Chakraborty has been granted bail by the Bombay High Court today. The court, however, dismissed the bail plea of ​​his brother, Showik Chakraborty.

The actress will have to deposit her passport and a bond of Rs 1 lakh for bail. He will need permission to move out of Mumbai. 

On September 11, the special NDPS court dismissed the bail pleas of Rhea and Showik and three others. Late then moved to Bombay High Court for bail. On September 29, the court reserved judgment on the bail plea.

Rhea Chakraborty lawyer, Satish Maneshinde, said, “We are happy with the order of the Honorable Bombay High Court granting bail to Rhea Chakraborty. Truth and justice have prevailed and ultimately the submissions on facts and law have been accepted by Justice Sarang V Kotwal.”

He added, “Rhea’s arrest and detention were completely unfair and beyond the reach of law. The hounding and witch hunt by three central agencies – the CBI, ED and NCB – of Rhea should come to an end. We remain committed to truth. Satya Meva Jayate.”

Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on September 9 for allegedly procuring drugs for Sushant Singh Rajput. She is currently staying at Mumbai’s Byculla jail.
