“Sunne Ki Bhi Aadat Daliye,” UHM Amit Shah Lambasted On AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi

Mumbai: It was all drama took place at Lok Sabha today as Lok Sabha passed the National Investigation Agency (Amendment) Bill, 2019 that seeks to strengthen the NIA to be able to probe matters of offences committed outside India against Indian citizens or those affecting interests of India.

In an interaction during the discussion on National Investigation Agency (Amendment) Bill 2019, Home Minister Amit Shah said that Parliament should speak in a voice to give powers to NIA to send a message to the terrorists and the world.

But due to the ruckus in the House, it was a verbal dispute between Shah and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, which started during the speech of BJP MP Satya Pal Singh.

As Satya Pal Singh started counting the terrorist cases arising out of Hyderabad, accusing that sometimes political overtones were established because it was favourable to a certain political party, Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi interrupted.

“When we talk about Malegaon, then we should also talk about Hyderabad. Some cases were made political because it was not conducive to the interests of any political party.”

Owaisi took the middle of the fight against anger.

After this Amit Shah stood up and advised to learn Owaisi several times to listen to others.

He said, “Sunne ki bhi aadat daliye Owaisi Sahab, iss tarah se nahi chalega. Sunna padega” Shah said this after AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi objected to a part of BJP MP Satya Pal Singh’s speech during discussion on NIA Amendment Bill.

NIA was formed in the wake of the Mumbai terrorist attack in 2009, in which 166 people lost their life. From 2017, the Union Home Ministry is pushing for more powers to the NIA to fulfil the new challenges.

Defending the bill, the Government refuted opposition’s claims of “misuse” of the NIA law to target members of a community and asserted its only goal is to finish off terrorism.
