Take Action Against Rahul Gandhi, BJP To Election Commission

Mumbai : The ruling party BJP has approached to the Election Commission to an legal action against opposition party president Rahul Gandhi, for his interview been published in an English Daily according to BJP its an example of paid news.

A delegation, including Union ministers JP Nadda, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and BJP’s Media Incharge Anil Baluni, presented a memorandum in the election panel attaching a copy of the interview published from Hyderabad and said, “Reporting through an interview … Paid News is a brilliant example.”

Addressing the media after meeting with Election Commission officials, Naqvi said, “Just a day before the polling in Telangana and Rajasthan, Rahul Gandhi through his interview, which was actually a paid news, tried to influence voters and electoral process also. It is a violation of electoral reforms.”

“This news (interview) comes in the category of paid news. According to the rules, no expedition or such interview should be done 48 hours prior to voting. Gandhi deliberately tried to influence voters and independent and unbiased process of elections. We demand immediate action against him and his party” he added.

In the memorandum, the BJP further said that the interview “goes against the very prices and standards of the permitted coverage in the summary of the compilation of the voting panel on matters relating to the media”.
