Tamannaah Bhatia Denies Involvement In INR 2.4Cr Cryptocurrency Fraud Case

Mumbai: Actress Tamannaah Bhatia has strongly refuted media reports suggesting that she is to be summoned by the Puducherry Police in connection with a Rs 2.4 crore cryptocurrency fraud case. Calling the claims “fake and misleading,” the actress assured that she would take legal action against such false reports.
Tamannaah Clarifies Her Stand
On Friday, February 28, multiple media outlets reported that Tamannaah and fellow actress Kajal Aggarwal were likely to be questioned regarding an alleged cryptocurrency scam. However, there has been no official confirmation from the authorities about their involvement in the case.
In a statement to Hindustan Times, Tamannaah addressed the rumors, saying, “It has come to my attention that rumours are being circulated alleging my involvement and dealing with cryptocurrency. I’d like to request my friends in the media not to circulate any such fake, misleading, and false reports and rumours.”
She further added, “In the meantime, my team is looking into the same to initiate appropriate action.”
Background of the Cryptocurrency Fraud Case
According to a report by 123 Telugu, ex-soldier Ashokan from Moolakulam, Puducherry, lodged a complaint against a Coimbatore-based firm established in 2022. Ashokan claimed he was defrauded in a cryptocurrency investment scheme after investing Rs 1 crore. He also convinced ten of his friends to invest a total of Rs 2.4 crore in the scheme.
Ashokan attended the company’s launch event, where Tamannaah was present, and later attended another function in Mahabalipuram, where Kajal Aggarwal was the chief guest. Reports suggest that at these events, luxury cars worth Rs 10 lakh to Rs 1 crore were gifted to over 100 investors.
Police Investigation and Pending Clarifications
Police officials are reportedly seeking clarification from both Kajal Aggarwal and Tamannaah Bhatia to determine whether they were merely endorsing the company’s events or had any financial involvement. However, Kajal has not yet responded to the reports circulating online.
Tamannaah’s Upcoming Projects
On the professional front, Tamannaah was last seen in the Netflix film Sikandar Ka Mukaddar alongside Avinash Tiwary and Jimmy Sheirgill. She is now gearing up for her upcoming horror thriller Odela 2, in which she plays the role of a sadhvi.
