Tamil Nadu: 52-Year-Old Neighbour Sexually Assaults 5-Year-Old Minor After Luring Her With Ice-cream
Mumbai: Another neighbour, reportedly, filmed the incident and showed the clip to the survivor’s mother the next day
A five-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by her 52-year-old neighbour in Saravanampatti of Tamil Nadu’s Coimbatore on Friday.
The accused, identified as A Zahir Hussain, was arrested on Sunday after the minor’s parent registered a case against him.
Hussain has been living in a rented house with his family next to the girl. As per reports, on Friday evening the minor girl was playing with her friends outside her house. That is when Hussain, after spotting her, offered her ice cream. He then took the child to his house and committed the heinous crime.
According to a report published by The Times of India, another neighbour, reportedly, filmed the incident and showed the clip to the survivor’s mother the next day.
After this, the survivor’s parents reported the crime to the Saravanampatti police. The case was referred to the east all-women police inspector Dowlath Nisha. The inspector registered a case under relevant provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Hussain was arrested on Sunday morning and presented in a special POCSO court and sent to judicial custody.
