Tamil Nadu CM Announces Gold Loan Waiver For Farmers & Poor

Mumbai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E Palaniswami announced the Gold Loan Waiver ahead of the announcement of the Tamil Nadu elections of 2021 dates. The declaration was made in relation to the six-sovereignty granted by cooperative banks to farmers and the poor.

Notably, the Model Code of Conduct will come into force in Tamil Nadu today at 4:30 pm after the announcement of Tamil Nadu election dates by the Election Commission.

NDTV quoted the state government as saying, “Gold loans will be waived against the six-sovereignty given by the cooperative banks to the farmers and the poor.”

His announcement comes after the Election Commission said it would announce election dates for poll-bound states including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and West Bengal.

It should be noted that the term of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly will expire on May 24, 2021. The Model Code of Conduct (MCC) will come into force in Tamil Nadu after the announcement of dates.

Tamil Nadu Election 2021 will be held to elect a total of 234 members (MLAs) of the Legislative Assembly.

Currently, Palaniswami of Adapadi will be the AIADMK’s chief ministerial candidate. The party has formed a Steering Committee of 11 members for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2021. The team consists of ministers Dindigul C Srinivasan, P Thangamani, SP Velumani.

Tamil Nadu Election 2021 will also see the active entry into politics of Makkal Nidi Maim (MNM) founder and Tamil actor Kamal Haasan.
