Tamil Nadu Govt Extends Lockdown Till August 9

Tamil Nadu: The Tamil Nadu government on Friday extended the coronavirus lockdown in the state till August 9. 

However, as per the new order, no additional relaxation has been given this time.

As per the order issued by the government, Tasmac bars, hotels, bars, and clubs will remain closed. Earlier, the government had announced to extend the lockdown in the state till July 19.

Cinemas will remain closed in the state till August 9.

Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramaniam has said that the cases of COVID-19 are increasing in the state for the last 3 days.

“No of Covid cases has been increasing in the last 3 days. RT-PCR tests have increased. The state recorded 1,859 fresh cases compared to 1,756 cases. Unfortunately, many people are not wearing face masks. Vigilance in TN-Kerala border is increased”, said the minister.
