Mumbai: Tamil Nadu on Tuesday recorded 523 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total to 8,35,803.
With 595 people recovering from the virus, new cases were detected, total recovery touching 8,18,742. Active cases stood at 4,736.
According to the government-issued health bulletin, five people succumbed to the virus, taking the total deaths in the state to 12,325.

All the victims were suffering from co-morbidities.
There were 168 new cases in Chennai, followed by 48 in Coimbatore and 37 in Chengalpattu.
Once again, there were no new cases in Kallakurichi and Perambalur districts, while several others reported single-digit infections.

The bulletin has tested more than 1.57 crore samples by RT-PCR, stating that there were 254 testing facilities in the state, of which 186 were private.
