Team India Gets Additional Security In WI After Hoax Terror Threat

Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) received a false message that Virat Kohli and the boys were in danger and their antics were being monitored.

Speaking to IANS, a senior board official said that when there was a hoax call on the lines, there is no truth in it. Despite that, the Indian team has been given extra security.

“It was a hoax and all things are in order. An additional pilot vehicle has been provided to the Indian team and the Indian High Commission informed the Government of Antigua as a precautionary measure,” the official reported.

The players are currently playing warm-up games as the Test series begins on Thursday and will also mark the beginning of their journey to India in the inaugural World Test Championship. Captain Kohli is very excited about the WTC and feels that India have a good chance of winning the tournament for two years.

“This (WTC) is very exciting. I think it is happening at the right time for Test cricket. Although you are going to play a bilateral series, it has more meaning and significance. You have to plan for every series. ” Excited about something like this and now it is coming to life, ”he said.
