Telangana BJP Leader Booked For Allegedly Raping Woman Journalist

Mumbai: In a shocking incident, BJP leader and advocate Raghunandan Rao of Telangana has been arrested by the RC Puram police under the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate for rape.

On Monday, a woman journalist approached the Commissioner of Cyberabad demanding police action against Raghunandan. The woman alleged that Raghunandan sexually assaulted her in 2007 by drinking coffee when she visited his office for counselling. The woman sought Raghunandan’s legal help in the harassment case against her husband.

The woman wrote in her complaint, “Raghunandan called me to visit his office to discuss the matter. He then offered me coffee. I got dizzy after drinking coffee and later she fainted. “Taking advantage of this, Raghunandan allegedly raped her.”

Furthermore, when he regained consciousness, he allegedly threatened to kill him if he revealed the incident. “Since then, he raped me several times. And he tortured me mentally and physically, ”she alleged in her complaint.

She also said that if he approached the police to lodge a complaint, Raghunandan threatened him to leak the photo in a ‘compromised position’.

Meanwhile, Raghunandan claimed that it was a political conspiracy by the TRS to suppress his voice. “I did not commit any crime. I am ready for any inquiry. Everyone knows what is happening in the state. Cases are being filed against journalists for speaking out against the government.

Based on the complaint and directions of SHRC, the RC Puram police have filed a case under section 376 (rape) and 503 (criminal intimidation) of IPC. “The case is under investigation,” police said.
