The Metamorphosis Of Education System In India Post The COVID Era

As of 2021, the Covid-19 pandemic is still continuing to wreck the world globally. It is no alien concept that coronavirus has made the entire world not just infuriated but also squandered a major part of the world economy.  Its impact has been broad, affecting just about every aspect of life, inclusive of general society, economy, culture, ecology, politics, and most majorly the education scenario over the world. Sharanya Singh, an author and poet from Patna, having published her first book ‘Hamartia’ at the age of 17, took the torch to throw a beam of light on the metamorphosis that the education system has undergone post-Covid.

Lakhs of Indian educators in course of the pandemic took the mantle and set the seal on making sure that the pillars of the Indian education system do not collapse during the crisis. As it is truly said that, “Necessity is the mother of invention”, new techniques have come up for new learning methods about 100 million students have been equipped and acquainted with new learning methods in the past year. Keeping in mind that India has the second-largest population with preponderance in the number of school-going children, it was obvious that changes would be needed to continue quality education in the country.

It would be apposite to state that during this course of time the Indian Education System has witnessed an enormous amount of change. From the way of teaching methods to the ones being educated, standing on the receiving end of the system, all of it has seen an amalgamation of traditional and technologically advanced techniques to pursue the larger objective. The advent of the National Education System 2020, being brought to the forefront after 34 extensive years, calls for a great timing accounting to a mindful education approach further.

The conventional method of education has persistently been perpetual in nature ever since India got independence from the subjugation of Britishers. The academics have been following the same techniques that have been lingering for ages now. The constant advancements in technology resulted in different concepts in the system. It should be eminent that with a new policy as effective as NEP, the pedagogies of the industry can improve to a much stronger level and can potentially move the sector from teacher-centric education to student-centric education.

The cornerstone of education should be to adopt equitable practices and not just the last resilient ones. The leaders of the education system, no matter how much adroitness they possess within their fields somewhere end up building strategies that last only for a couple of twinklings. When one tosses out something contemporary, no matter how tiny it may look, it should be fabricated in a way that passes the test of time adapting and should have the potential to survive any changes that happen in the long run. For instance, when the academicians now contrive methods of e-learning, it should be an agenda to build a framework that is flexible to the constantly evolving requirements of the industry.

In this day and age, it is the sole culpability of the academic leaders, higher authorities belonging to the education system, and educators reconceive that developing skills should be given a prerogative and construct an effectual system that not just escalates and amplifies the capability of the students but also helps them to master the factors required to flourish in the advancing the metamorphosis of the education sector.
