The Whole Of Pakistan Will Hold Protests Tomorrow In Solidarity With Kashmiris: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi

Mumbai: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said on Thursday that his country would stage a protest against “India’s unilateral move” to repeal Article 370 and express solidarity with the “Kashmiri brothers”.

National Assembly Speaker Fakhar Imam, the minister said that the protests would be held at 12 noon every Friday on the suggestion of the parliament.

Commending the joint session of Parliament and a unanimous resolution on Kashmir, the foreign minister said that this shows that all sides of the spectrum are united in their opposition to India’s “illegal move”.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan had announced that an event will be held every week to show solidarity with the Kashmiri people, starting with Friday (August 30) between 12 pm and 12:30 pm (local time).

“They (India) have played their trump card. They don’t have any cards to play now. Now whatever needs to be done will be done by us and the world,” he had said.

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Qureshi also said that he had written a letter to the United Nations on the 1st, 6th and 13th of this month to make the United Nations aware of the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, including diplomatic efforts to internationalize the Kashmir situation.

He also said that the recent discussion on Kashmir in the UN Security Council was a major achievement of Pakistan, which was held despite India’s busy efforts to stop it.

The Government of India’s move to accord special status to Article 370 of Jammu and Kashmir has shocked Pakistan and found itself completely isolated despite desperate efforts to internationalize the issue.
