‘There Are Many More Skeletons In Cupboards Of The Rich And Famous’: Gehana Vasisth On Raj Kundra Arrest

Mumbai: Actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra’s husband Raj Kundra has been arrested by Mumbai Police for making obscene films and publishing them through certain apps. He is also being told as the main conspirator in this case.

Controversial model-actress Gehna Vashisht aka Vandana Tiwari in a video slammed Pradeep Bakshi, chairman of the Kenrin production house and company linked to Kundra, which is involved in creating porn content.

She said, “We don’t make porn, it’s normal erotica, similar to Ekta Kapoor’s Gandi Baat. I request you all to first watch these videos and then make a judgement. Not a single video comes in the porn category. I have full faith in the Mumbai police and will not do any injustice. None of the videos is porn, it’s only bold. Don’t miss erotica with porn.”

Gehana’s publicist issued a statement on the case after Raj Kundra’s arrest that read, “The law will take its course. We have full faith in the Mumbai police, but they should not mix up porn with erotica or bold content. We have always said that the Mumbai police is the best force in the world. The courts will eventually decide during the trial as to who are the real culprits and which of the arrested accused were merely used, by others (sic).”

Taking an indirect dig at Raj Kundra, the statement further read, “We do not wish to comment further, as Gehna is out on bail in the same cases and does not wish to prejudice or harm her right to personal defence. However, the police should do a thorough investigation as there are many more skeletons in the cupboards of the rich and famous.”

Mumbai Police has arrested a technical expert in connection with the investigation of an alleged porn racket by the Crime Branch-CID, official sources said here on Tuesday. Police have arrested Ryan John Tharpe, entrusted with the technical aspects of Kundra-Shetty’s companies, from Nerul in Navi Mumbai for his alleged role and involvement in the same scam.

Both were produced before a magistrate in Mumbai and have been remanded to police custody till July 23. With this, the total number of arrests in this case so far has gone up to around 12 and many more suspects are still on the police radar.

Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale said in a statement, “A case was registered with the Crime Branch about the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some apps. We’ve arrested Raj Kundra in this case as he appears to be the key conspirator.”
