There Are No Hindi, Telugu, Tamil Films; There Are Indian Films: Alia

Mumbai: Actress Alia Bhatt, speaking about the recent success of pan-India films across the country, said that these films might be made on a big scale, however, it’s the emotion in the story that connects people.

The trailer of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra was released yesterday. Ayan Mukerji’s mythological fantasy drama has been in the news for quite some time now. Ever since the first look of the film was released a few months back, fans are eagerly waiting to see it on the silver screen.

The pan-India phenomenon has been on the rise for quite some time and is gaining centre stage. In a conversation with Kaushik Rajaraman on DT Next, the Brahmastra trio discussed the same. Alia expressed that after all, it is the spirit that is ‘pan’ India. She expressed that a film can be of any scale or huge spectacle, but in the end, it is the emotion in the story that connects the people.

Elaborating further, Alia said, “I guess what I’ve also learned from this experience now that we’re sitting here and having this conversation, is that, there is no Hindi film, Tamil film, Telugu film, there are Indian films. And there has to be that feeling, and we need to just give you that, to your audience, to the people that this is a film for you. It’s for everyone. Because it genuinely is. Sometimes there is a feeling that’s not for you, but that’s not true.”

Talking about Brahmastra, this film is going to be released in many languages ​​including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Actually, Chiranjeevi has lent his voice to the Telugu version of the film’s trailer. Brahmastra Part One: Shiva will hit the theatres on 9 September 2022.
