Three Bilateral Projects Inaugurated By India And Bangladesh
Mumbai: In a recent development Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Sheikh Hasina inaugurated three bilateral projects. It includes import LPG from Bangladesh, the inauguration of the Vivekananda Bhavan at Ram Krishna Mission in Dhaka and the inauguration of Bangladesh-India professional skill development Institute at the Institute of Engineers in Khulna.
Prime Minister Modi said, “I am happy that I got the opportunity to inaugurate three more bilateral projects between India and Bangladesh. In a year we have inaugurated a total of 12 joint projects.”
He added, “These agreements are the very basis of India-Bangladesh relations and it ensures the prosperity of the people of two nations.”
Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina thanked Prime Minister Modi for inviting her to visit India.
“Ram Krishna Mission is playing a very important role in the spread of education in Bangladesh. Every year many students are continuing their education with the help of this institution. It is also working for the social and economic development of Bangladesh.” Thank you to the Government of India for providing financial support for this institution,” the visiting dignitary said.
He further added, “The decision to import LPG from Bangladesh to India will help make trade relations more dynamic and will also help meet energy demands in Northeast India.”
Prime Minister Hasina is on a four-day visit to India.
India and Bangladesh today signed seven agreements in the areas of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) on the extraction of 1.82 cusecs of water from the Feni River from India, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for drinking water supply in Tripura Done. The Government of India implemented a Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of India, the University of Bangladesh and the University of Dhaka to provide a cultural exchange program, a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Youth Affairs and a Coastal Monitoring System.
Addressing the media on the occasion, Modi said, “India attaches high importance and priority to its partnership with Bangladesh. It is a matter of great pride that cooperative relations are involved between the two neighbors.”
The Bangladesh-India Professional Skills Development Institute will help develop skilled manpower and technicians to support the industrial development of Bangladesh. While Vivekananda Bhavan is inspired by two great people — Swami Vivekananda and Ramakrishna Paramahamsa — who have greatly influenced the lives of the people of both countries, the Prime Minister emphasized.
