Thundershowers Likely To Hit Mumbai Today

Mumbai: Officials of the Meteorological Department of India had feared sketching of sky and clouds in Mumbai on Saturday. In particular, there was significant rain in the island city on Friday and the winds suffered all day.

Rainfall recorded by IMD Colaba on Friday was 27.2 mm. In addition, the IMD Santa Cruz Observatory reported rains from 8.30 am to 8.30 pm, up to 6.6 mm.

A civilian official said that three people have died in the fall of trees in the city since Thursday. In Mumbai and adjoining areas, it has been raining with strong winds over the past few days.

Earlier, two people were injured when on Friday morning, around 6.30 pm, a tree branch fell near the Wadi, on the SV road in Malad.

In addition, rail, road and air traffic were also affected due to the downturn. The operation of all flights at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport was suspended yesterday due to low visibility.
