TMC Trying To Make Partha A Scapegoat, Entire Party Structurally Corrupt: BJP MLA

Mumbai: Following West Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee’s arrest by the ED, BJP MLA Suvendu Adhikari asked, “What is stopping the state government from sacking Partha Chatterjee as a cabinet minister?”

His statement comes after West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said she would not spare anyone if found guilty.

BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari said that no one would believe that the TMC leadership was unaware of the scam, which allegedly happened when Chatterjee was the education minister.

“Such comments are laughable. The investigating agencies must investigate the money trail. The TMC top brass is now trying to distance itself from Partha Chatterjee as if he is solely responsible for everything. The TMC is trying to make him a scapegoat,” said Adhikari.

“What is stopping the state government from sacking Partha Chatterjee as a cabinet minister? This proves that the TMC supports corruption,” he further said.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Saturday arrested West Bengal Commerce and Industry Minister Partha Chatterjee as part of its probe into irregularities in a recruitment drive conducted by the School Service Commission.
