Total Number Of Coronavirus Cases In India Crosses 700; Death Toll Rises To 17

Mumbai: According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the number of coronavirus cases increased to 724 on Friday. Since Thursday night (8 pm), 30 new cases have been reported in the country.

The number of people who have been cured or discharged stands at 66 while there are 640 active COVID-19 patients in the county.

According to the Union Health Ministry, 17 people have died of the disease, while one case has escaped.
Cases have been reported from 27 states/Union Territories.

Another death was reported from Thursday night in Maharashtra, which is the highest death toll in the state at 4, the highest ever in the country. There are 130 COVID-19 infected people in the state.

Kerala has registered 19 new COVID-19 cases since Thursday and now the total number of infected persons in the state is 137, the highest in India.

A total of 27,688 samples of 26798 individuals have been tested for SARS-CoV2 from 9 am on March 27, Indian Council of Medical Research said.
