Tranche II Focused On Farmers, Migrant Workers, Small Vendors And Small Traders: FM Nirmala Sitharaman

Mumbai: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman while outlining the second tranche of ‘Atmanirbar Bharat’ economic package said that this tranche is focused on small farmers, migrant workers, small vendors and small traders.

Sitharaman while addressing to media said, 3 crore farmers with agricultural loans of Rs.4.22 lakh crores availed the benefit of 3 months loan moratorium. While the Interest subvention and prompt repayment incentive on crop loans due from 1st March have been extended to 31st May.

For availability of cash flow to the farmers, 25 Lakh new Kisan credit cards have been issued with a loan limit of Rs. 25000 crores.

“Govt has permitted state govt to utilise SDRF for setting up a shelter for migrants & providing them food & water etc. We are conscious, we are attending to the migrants and giving them in various different ways,” said Sitharaman.

Central government released Rs. 11002 crores rupees as their contribution in advance to all states to augment the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) on 3rd April 2020.

Around 3 crore masks and 1.20 lakh litres of sanitizer are produced by 12000 Self Help Groups (SHG), while this gave an additional opportunity for employment for the urban poor.

7200 new SHGs have been formed during the period starting from 15th March 2020. Disbursal of Revolving Fund (RF) to SHG on-boarded on PAiSA portal in April 2020 on a pilot basis in Gujarat is now being rolled out to the whole nation, said Sitharaman.
