Two Booked For Doing Stunts On A Harbour Local

Mumbai: Two youngsters were arrested on Thursday for performing stunts on a Harbour local. They were arrested after being caught red-handed by two police officers on the train. They were also travelling ticketless.

Constables Sachin Patil and Sachin Mandle were headed to work on Thursday morning. They got into the first-class coach of an Andheri local from Chembur station around 8.20am. The local reached Kurla station at 8.30am when the two youngsters entered and stood on the footboard. They were later identified as Momin Mustafa (19) and Samir Ahmed Ali (20).

“The constables spotted the youngsters performing stunts and told them to stop. But the duo would not pay any heed. The constables then started recording the stunts on a camera phone,” said senior inspector Rajendra Pal.

Both youngsters were told to alight at Wadala station and were hauled to the GRP chowki. “One of the boys lives in Govandi and the other in Colaba. We summoned their parents to the chowkies and showed them the videos. Such dangerous stunts are risky for life,” added Pal.

The youngsters were booked under provisions of Indian Penal Code and were produced before a railway court.
