Two Senior PDP Leaders Resign, Citing ‘Lack Of Vision’ In Mehbooba Mufti’s Party

Mumbai: PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti suffered a setback, with two senior leaders of her party resigning on Sunday citing “lack of vision”.

Khursheed Alam, who was nominated to the PDP’s political affairs committee last week, is among the two leaders to leave the party.

Alam, a former trade union leader who joined the PDP after retiring from government service, said he resigned from the party as it “lacks any vision”.

Rising through the ranks in the Department of Consumer Affairs, Alam further stated that he would announce his future course in due time.

Another PDP leader who has formally sent his resignation along with Alam is Yasir Reshi. He rebelled against party president Mehbooba Mufti two years ago.

Reshi, a resident of the Bandipora district of North Kashmir, said that he would decide her future course of action after talking to her activists and supporters.

The resignation of the two leaders comes days after the PDP leader and former Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Baig attended the People’s Conference.
