U’khand To End COVID-19 Curbs From Nov 20; Masks, Social Distancing Mandatory

Mumbai: Statewide restrictions imposed in view of the COVID-19 pandemic will be cancelled in Uttarakhand with effect from November 20, according to Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority (USDMA).

“Wearing of masks will be mandatory at public places, workplaces and on public transport. Spitting at public places is illegal and will result in fines and punishment,” the authority said in a statement.

The current recovery rate in the state is 96.01 per cent and the death rate due to COVID-19 stands at 2.15 per cent. The positivity rate for the day stands at 0.29 per cent.

During the last 24 hours, 10 people recovered from the infection and no deaths were reported, taking the tally of active cases in the state to 177.

As per the Union Health Ministry, India has reported 11,106 new cases, 12,789 recoveries and 459 deaths in the last 24 hours.

The cumulative COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has crossed 115 crores, as per the data on the Cowin dashboard.
