Mumbai: United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson was tested positive for Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 on Friday. He himself confirmed that he was tested positive for coronavirus after exhibiting symptoms in the last 24 hours.
Johnson said that he have put himself into self-isolation, Boris also claimed that he would continue to lead the government’s response to the deadly outbreak via video-conference.
“I have developed mild symptoms of coronavirus, temperature and persistent cough,” British PM Boris Johnson said in a video posted on his Twitter handle.
“On the advice of the Chief Medical Officer, I have taken an exam and it turned out to be positive. I am working from home and isolated. It is completely the right thing to do.”
The British Prime Minister said, “I can move forward in technology to communicate with my top team and lead the national fight against the virus.”

A government official also confirmed the news, stating, “The Prime Minister was tested for coronavirus on the personal advice of Professor Chris Whitty, Chief Medical Officer of England. The test was performed by NHS staff at number 10 Was and test results.
Meanwhile, a total of 578 deaths due to coronavirus have occurred in the United Kingdom so far, while the number of confirmed cases nationwide has risen to 11,568.
The United Kingdom is the fourth-worst affected country in Europe and the seventh-worst in the world after Italy, Spain, China, Iran, France, and the United States.
