Unprecedented Development Will Have Serious Impact On Bilateral Relations, Says MEA On Galwan Valley Clash

Mumbai: After a conversation with China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the Galwan valley clash, MEA says that this unprecedented development will have a serious impact on the bilateral relationship. And chinese side needs to reassess its actions and take corrective steps.

“Two sides should scrupulously & sincerely implement the understanding reached by Senior Commanders on June 6. Troops of both sides should also abide by bilateral agreements protocols. They should strictly respect and observe LAC & shouldn’t take any unilateral action to alter it,” MEA said in the statement.

At the conclusion of the telephonic talk between both countries foreign affairs minister’s, it was agreed that the overall situation would be handled in a responsible manner and both sides would sincerely implement a disengagement understanding of 6 June.

Further it said that neither side would take any action to escalate matters and ensure peace as per bilateral relations agreements and protocols.

In the violent face-off, Soldiers martyred on both sides, 20 of Indian army and 40 of PLA. This was the first violent face-off in the past 5 decades between both countries.
