Mumbai: A bride in Uttar Pradesh refused to marry after the groom forgot to bring along a photographer. She later went to her neighbour’s house.
The incident is in a village in Kanpur Dehat district on Sunday. The marriage of the daughter of a farmer living in a village under the Mangalpur police station area of Kanpur countryside was fixed with a person living in Bhognipur.
The stage was beautifully decorated for the Jaimal ceremony. When the procession reached, the bride’s family welcomed her and the bride and groom reached the stage for the ‘Jayamal’ ceremony.
However, the bride felt that there was no photographer to capture the memorable moments and refused to participate in the ceremony. Later she left the stage and went to her neighbour’s house.
Everyone tried hard to convince the girl, but she said, “The man who didn’t care about our marriage today, how will he take care of me in future?” The elders of the family also tried to convince him but to no avail.
After this, the matter reached the police station, where both parties agreed to return the exchanged money and valuables with mutual consent. Mangalpur police station sub-inspector Dori Lal said that the matter has been resolved with mutual consent.
“Both the parties returned the goods and cash given to each other. After this, the groom left for his native place without a bride,” he said and added, “There was a dispute over the photographer and videographer which the groom side did not arrange due to which the girl got angry and refused to marry.”
