UP Govt Has No Answer Following Spike In COVID Cases In-State: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra

Mumbai: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday took a dig at the Uttar Pradesh government as COVID-19 cases in the state were increasing rapidly.

He claimed that the reason behind the increase in cases is the lack of data testing and juggling.

“Despite nearly three months of lockdown and all claims by the UP government, coronavirus cases have increased rapidly in 25 districts of UP in July. There has been a jump (number of COVID-19 cases) of 200 percent in three districts (400 percent in three districts and over 1,000 percent in one district),” she wrote on Twitter.

She said that according to reports, 70 percent of the infected people died in Prayagraj within 48 hours of positive reporting.

Priyanka tweeted, “We were already scared of this, so initially we wrote a letter to the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and gave positive suggestions in this context and took up the matter of maximum test.”

“Today, this situation has occurred because of the lack of testing, delay in reporting, the juggling of data, and not paying attention to contact tracing. The UP government has no answer to this,” she added.
