UP Schools To Reopen For Classes 9-12 From Aug 16, Colleges To Start From Sep 1

Uttar Pradesh: The Uttar Pradesh government on Monday issued an order directing schools to resume physical classes for Classes 9-12 from August 16 with 50% attendance.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath issued these instructions while presiding over the meeting of senior officers on the situation of Covid-19. Classes will be conducted in the secondary schools of the state from August 16 with 50 percent of the total capacity.

However, the admission process in secondary schools will start with immediate effect. The Yogi government has issued instructions to open higher educational institutions from September 1 and the admission process for higher classes will start from August 5.

It is noteworthy that admission to undergraduate classes in the universities and colleges of the state will start this week. The formalities for admission to postgraduate and research courses in the state universities and colleges have already started.

According to officials, the results of state board intermediate and high school classes were declared on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the covid situation in UP has further eased with only 25 fresh cases being reported in the last 24 hours. 

The state government informed that there are only 646 active covid cases in UP now and 426 of them are in home isolation.
