UP Shiv Sena Leader Booked For Attempt To Rape

Mumbai: Shiv Sena leader booked for allegedly trying to rape a woman here, police said on Wednesday.

A 23-year-old woman, a local resident, alleged that Shiv Sena district chief Kuldeep Pandit entered her house on Tuesday in the absence of her husband and tried to rape her, he said.

Police said the accused ran away when the woman sounded the alarm.

Based on the woman’s complaint, an FIR was registered against Pandit, the city police station SHO said.

The leader’s wife has dismissed the allegations in a police complaint. She said her husband went to the home to verify a report that there was prostitution going on when she was attacked and robbed of her mobile, camera and cash.

Police said that no arrests have been made so far and the matter is being investigated.
