US President Donald Trump To Join PM Narendra Modi At ‘Howdy Modi’ In Houston

Mumbai: For the first time ever US president Donald Trump will join Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Houston in the mega ‘Howdy, Modi!’ event that will take place on September 22.

This is the first time in recent history that leaders of two of the world’s largest democracies will address a joint rally.

“On September 22, President Donald J. Trump will travel to Houston, Texas, and Wapkonta, Ohio to underline significant partnerships between the United States and India, and Australia. In Houston, President Trump will accompany Indian PM Narendra Modi Will participate in an event,” the White House press secretary said in a statement.

Reacting to this Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his pleasure at Trump joining the event at Houston, he tweeted saying “A special gesture by @POTUS, signifying the special friendship between India and USA! Delighted that President @realDonaldTrump will join the community programme in Houston on the 22nd. Looking forward to joining the Indian origin community in welcoming him at the programme.”

Notably, Narendra Modi will address a gathering of 50,000 people at the NRG Stadium in Houston on 22 September.! Howdy, Modi! Titled, the event is hosted in the United States by the Texas India Forum and the Indian Diaspora.

According to 2016 US Census Bureau data, approximately 3.2 million Indian Americans constitute the richest ethnic group in the US, with an average income of $ 110,000.
