US President-Elect Joe Biden Receives COVID19 Vaccine, Urges Americans To Take It

Mumbai: US President-elect Joe Biden received a dose of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine on live television on Monday.

Biden also thanked the scientists and researchers for developing the vaccine that the American people had nothing to worry about the safety of the vaccine.

“Today, I received the COVID-19 vaccine. To the scientists and researchers who worked tirelessly to make this possible — thank you. We owe you an awful lot,” Biden said in a tweet.

“And to the American people — know there is nothing to worry about. When the vaccine is available, I urge you to take it,” he wrote further.

Biden received his first dose of the vaccine for the novel coronavirus on Monday. In an effort to reassure the American public of vaccine safety, the program was broadcast live, The Hill reported.

The New York Times reported that he credited the Trump administration for his work on Operation War Speed, The New York Times reported.

Biden became the latest in a string of US political leaders who have received the vaccine. Vice President Mike Pence received it publicly at a White House event on Friday, while other members of Congress have also received a dose.
