US Secretary Pompeo Arrives In India, H1B Visa, Russia Deal Main Agenda Of Visit

Mumbai: In a recent development, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has arrived in India on Tuesday.
There will be a separate meeting with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and later with PM Narendra Modi.
The main agenda of this visit will be to strengthen India’s ties with the US, on several contentious topics like India’s missile deal with Russia and H-1B visas will be up for discussion.

Russia is likely to be on the purchase table of India due to the situation arising from US sanctions on S-400 missile defense system, terrorism, H-1B visas, trade and buying oil from Iran, as well as hosting other issues will be key issues will be discussed on Wednesday.
National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval will also interact with Pompeii on issues of terrorism and national security.
The important trip before the G20 summit next week, where US President Donald Trump and PM Modi will meet each other, set the tone for the upcoming event.
The trip to Pompeo is the third visit to India by a state secretary during the Trump administration.
After his visit to India from June 25-27, Pompeo will travel to Japan to participate in the G-20 summit with Trump
Modi will also be among the leaders of the top 20 economies of the world. Both leaders are expected to meet at the summit.
