Mumbai: In a shocking incident, a five-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by three minor boys in Uttar Pradesh. The accused allegedly filmed the obscene act on a mobile phone. The accused approached the girl when she was playing outside her house.
After the incident, the accused staged a protest demanding strict action against the three accused. During the dharna, top police officers reached the spot and assured the protesters of speedy action.
Additional Superintendent of Police, Ayodhya Prasad Singh said that the three accused were detained by them and produced before the Juvenile Justice (JJ) Board, after which they were sent to a correctional home.
The incident came to light on Monday when the family of the 5-year-old girl approached the police and lodged a complaint. The girl’s family members alleged that she was playing outside their house when some boys from the neighbourhood dragged her to a secluded place, The Indian Express reported.
The accused allegedly raped the minor girl one by one and recorded the obscene act on the phone of one of them. The inappropriate video was later circulated by the accused, the owner of the phone.
