Mumbai: In a shocking incident, a six-year-old girl was brutally murdered, gang-raped, and her body recovered in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur district.
The girl went missing from the Ghatampur area on Diwali night, PTI reported.
Police said the lungs had been removed by the accused to perform black magic, believing that it would help a woman give birth to a child.
Senior police officer Brajesh Srivastava said that accused Ankul Kuril (20) and Beeran (31) – who was arrested on Sunday – had handed lungs to prominent conspirator Parashuram Kuril for performing black magic.
Parashuram was taken into custody yesterday. The officer said that Parashuram’s wife was also detained due to apprehension that she knew about the incident, but did not talk to anyone about it.
The accused have been charged under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.
Parashurama initially tried to mislead the police, but facing intense interrogation, he broke down and confessed to his crime. She married in 1999 but did not have any children yet, after which she persuaded her nephew, Ankul, and her friend Beeran to kidnap the girl and remove her lungs, PTI reported.
The Drunk accused kidnapped the girl and gang-raped her before killing her.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the authorities to take strict action against the accused. The Chief Minister has said that the case will be heard in a fast-track court so that the accused are punished at the earliest.
