Speaking in Nimmoo, the Prime Minister appreciated the soldiers and said that the bravery displayed by them and their compatriots has given a message to the world about India’s strength.
Modi said, “The bravery you and your compatriots have shown has sent a message to the world about India’s strength … Your courage is higher than the heights where you are stationed today.”
The remarks come amid continuing tension between India and China on the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh. In a violent confrontation, 20 Indian soldiers were killed in the Galawan Valley on 15–16 June, when Chinese troops attempted to change the situation unilaterally during de-escalation.
