Mumbai: Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra described the arrest of Vikas Dubey, the main accused in the Kanpur encounter, as “a major breakthrough for the police” and called him a “brutal killer” here on Thursday.
Mishra told ANI, “This is a huge success for the police. Vikas Dubey is a ruthless killer. Police from all over Madhya Pradesh were on alert. He has been arrested from Mahakal temple in Ujjain. We have informed the Uttar Pradesh Police regarding the same.”
Vikas Dubey, the main accused of the Kanpur encounter, has been arrested at a police station here on Thursday.
“Vikas Dubey, the main accused in the Kanpur encounter case, has been arrested at a police station in Ujjain,” the report said.
Eight police personnel were killed in the encounter.
