Virat Kohli Becomes 6th Indian Batter To Score 8,000 Runs In Test Cricket

Mumbai: Virat Kohli has become the sixth Indian batter to score 8,000 runs in Test cricket. The 33-year-old reached the 8,000-run mark after scoring his 38th run in the first innings of the first Test against Sri Lanka, which marks his 100th Test.

In the 39th over of the innings, Kohli directed the ball towards point and entered the 8k club with a single. The batting maestro took 169 innings to break this mark.

Meanwhile, he is the fifth-fastest Indian to score 8000 runs as batting great Sachin Tendulkar has achieved the feat in 154 innings, followed by the current head coach of India Rahul Dravid – 157 innings.
