Virat Kohli Leaves Team India Bio-Bubble, Given 10-Day Break By BCCI: Reports

Mumbai: Virat Kohli has left Team India bio-bubble following the second T20I against West Indies, PTI reported. Kohli has been given a 10-day break by BCCI and he won’t feature in the T20I series against Sri Lanka as well, reports added.

“The BCCI has given Virat Kohli a break from the Bio-Bubble. He won’t be part of the 3rd T20I as he heads back to home. (Reported by PTI),” read a tweet by a handle by the name of Mufaddal Vohra.

Virat Kohli played an important half-century for the Indian team in the second T20 match against West Indies. The batting icon scored 52 off 41 balls to help the Indian side post a total of 186/5 on the board, helping them beat their opponents by a margin of 8 runs.

After the conclusion of the match, Indian captain Rohit Sharma said that the 33-year-old Kohli played an important innings for the ‘Men in Blue’ and played some pleasant shots in the middle to stay out.

“It was a very important innings from Virat. The way he started, it took the pressure off me too. We didn’t start well in the first two overs, then he came and started playing shots that were pleasing to the eye,” Rohit Sharma said of Kohli at the post-match presentation ceremony.

Virat Kohli is the highest run-scorer in T20I cricket for the Indian side and has scored 3296 runs in his career at an average of over 50 and a strike rate of 137.67. Kohli has also scored 30 half-centuries in his illustrious T20I career.

Apart from Kohli, even wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant has been given a break by the BCCI and the left-hander will miss the 3rd T20I against the West Indies.

Pant will also miss the T20I series against Sri Lanka that will commence on 24th February 2022 as well.
