Mumbai: A Vistara flight traveling from Paris to Mumbai with 306 people on board received a bomb threat on Sunday, prompting a full emergency declaration at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, officials reported.

The flight, identified as UK 024, departed from Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport and landed safely in Mumbai at 10:19 am, as confirmed by sources and news agency PTI. The threat was identified via a handwritten note found on an air sickness bag, which led to immediate action by the airline’s staff.

“At 10:08 am, a full emergency was declared at the Mumbai airport,” a source stated, highlighting the swift response to the potential threat. “The flight had 294 passengers and 12 crew members on board,” the source added.

Vistara confirmed the incident in a statement, acknowledging that a security concern was identified by the staff during the flight. “Following the protocol, the airline immediately informed the relevant authorities,” a Vistara spokesperson mentioned.

Upon landing, the aircraft was subjected to comprehensive security checks as part of standard procedure. Vistara assured that it is fully cooperating with the security agencies to ensure the safety of all passengers and crew.
